XED Light is Better than LED Light

Have you ever wondered if we could recreate the natural light of the sun with an artificial source? Back in 2017, I asked myself this question. And the answer is a resounding yes. With the innovation of XED or Xenon Energy Saving Discharge Lamp, we can now experience an artificial light source that closely mimics the spectrum of sunlight.

In contrast to white LEDs that emit excessive blue wavelengths, which can be harmful to our health, XED lights offer a spectrum that is almost identical to natural sunlight. Not only do XED lights excel in terms of spectral contents, but they also boast superior power consumption and total running life hours. Furthermore, they produce less glare and maintain clarity even in foggy weather. Research has shown that excessive exposure to the blue light emitted by LED lights can have detrimental effects on human health.

XED Light: Unveiling a New Lighting Technology

XED (Xenon Energy Saving Discharge Lamp) is a cutting-edge lighting technology that stands apart from regular LED lights. With XED, we finally have an artificial light source that closely matches the full light spectrum of sunlight. This can be witnessed in the photograph below, where the natural colors of flowers appear more vibrant under XED lighting compared to LED and other light sources.

My curiosity about XED led me to visit XED Light Limited in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, China in May 2017. There, I had the opportunity to explore their R&D lab and witness firsthand the remarkable developments of XED technology. The illumination provided by XED lights gives an almost lifelike sunlight effect.

Comparing Lighting Effects: XED vs. Other Light Sources

To truly understand the superiority of XED lights, let's compare the lighting effects of different light sources. The video below showcases the illuminating power of XED light with high color rendering index (CRI) and no flickering.

In the video, the first vase is illuminated under XED light, displaying clear and vivid colors with no flickering. In contrast, the second vase illuminated under LED light appears slightly blue, with color distortion in different flower colors. LED lights also cause eye fatigue due to their noticeable flickering. The third vase, illuminated by a metal halide lamp, reveals a greenish tint and some color distortion. Lastly, the fourth vase lit by an HPS lamp displays a yellowish hue and serious color distortion. Although both metal halide and HPS lamps are free from flickering, they cannot match the natural color rendition of XED lighting.

Spectral Distribution: XED vs. LED

Test reports indicate a significant difference in spectral distribution between XED and LED lights. LED lights often exhibit an unbalanced spectrum, with an excessive amount of blue light in high CCT LEDs and an overabundance of green and red light in low CCT LEDs. In contrast, XED light sources offer a more balanced spectral distribution for varying CCTs. This is evident in the left graph of the following photograph, which shows the spectrum of a 150W XED light source tested for over 48,000 hours since October 2010.

The Advantages of XED Light

XED emits a full white light spectrum that closely resembles sunlight. Its brightness and clarity surpass LED lights, while also consuming 20% less energy. XED lights do not flicker, making them ideal for lighting sports stadiums. Moreover, XED lights possess strong light penetration power, enabling clearer visibility during rainy, foggy, or dusty conditions. Unlike other light sources, XED lights do not require heat sinks and can have a real effective lifetime of over 48,000 hours. Their installation is hassle-free, and maintenance is convenient.

XED lights find extensive applications in both indoor and outdoor settings, including public lighting, industrial spaces, and retail shops. XED lighting enhances the presentation of fruits, vegetables, foods, clothes, and other goods, allowing customers to experience the original colors more vividly and improving sales.

XED: A Cost-Effective and Energy-Saving Solution

In addition to its superior performance, XED also offers significant energy savings. Compared to LED lights, XED lights can save more than 20% energy. When compared to HPS lamps, the energy savings reach an impressive 87.5%. Additionally, XED lights outperform CFL lights by saving over 60% energy.

Embrace XED Light for Your Lighting Requirements

With its unparalleled benefits, XED light serves industrial lighting requirements better than any other light source. It is also ideal for street lighting, tunnel lighting, stadium lighting, and artificial lighting for indoor gardens. Make the most of XED technology for your lighting needs while being aware of the health hazards associated with LED lights.
